ECDL MS PowerPoint Basics

This is equivalent to ECDL Extra module.

This workshop develops the learner’s ability to demonstrate competence in using presentation tools on a computer e.g. creating, formatting, modifying and preparing presentations using different slide layouts for display and printed distribution.

After completing this workshop the learner should be able to:

  • Work with presentations and save them in different file formats.
    • Choose built-in options, such as the Help function, within the application to enhance productivity.
  • Understand different presentation views and when to use them; choose different slide layouts and designs.
  • Enter, edit, and format text in presentations.
  • Recognise good practice in applying unique titles to slides.
  • Choose, create, and format charts to communicate information meaningfully.
  • Insert and edit pictures, images, and drawn objects.
  • Apply animation and transition effects to presentations.
  • Check and correct presentation content before finally printing
  • Giving presentation

Who is it for?

This workshop allows learners to demonstrate the ability to use presentation software to accomplish everyday tasks associated with creating, formatting and finishing presentation documents such as letters and other everyday documents.
This workshop introduces the learner to an important means of business communication. It allows learners to demonstrate the ability to produce high quality presentations using a variety of tools including charts, graphs and drawn objects.

  • No prior of knowledge of presentation software is required.
  • Basic IT skills needed.

What Qualifications will be received?

  • All attendees will receive a Certificate of Achievement on completion.
  • You can choose to sit the ECDL exam for the modules you have completed

There are further opportunities for learners to build upon what they have learnt. For Example:

  1. Progress to the Advanced Workshop
  2. Attend further workshops and courses which can be used to build up a full IT User Qualification e.g.
  • BCS ITQ qualification
  • European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)
